Tonight I felt a strong desire to write this blog and I sense that someone out there needs it as much as I needed it. Could that someone be you?
Over the past months, I’ve been trusting God for breakthroughs in certain areas of my life and I went through some very challenging and difficult times. There were times when I was wondering if my situation was ever going to change; at times I wondered why this is happening to me and there was even a time when I felt like giving up on my dreams. Yes I felt like giving up. I felt completely broken and vulnerable and felt like someone who had lost her way. I am sure some of you can relate to this.
One day during this difficult time I was sitting and staring at my dreamwall. I was looking at it, but I wasn’t really focused on it, i.e. my eyes were on it, but my mind was somewhere else. And then the next morning, I realised what I was looking at. I was looking at the words “the power of positive thinking” on my dreamwall. It was in that moment that I new that I needed to shift my thinking from negative to positive thinking. I needed to shift my focus from my current situation to the visualised end state. And literally in a few moments from having made a decision to shift my thinking, I was reminded by the pictures on my dreamwall of the all the dreams and desires that God had placed on the inside of me and I started believing again that my dreams are possible.
Now you would ask me Candice how did you get to this state, well to tell you the truth, I took my eyes off the picture and started focusing on what was happening around me. I was focused on my current situation, which at the time was a hopeless situation to me. It felt like I had been trusting God for breakthroughs for months and I had just reached my breaking point.
But praise God for His grace, mercy and unconditional love. He is a Father that refuses to give up on His children no matter how hopeless the situation seemed. He had to help me get my focus right again and He used the thing which was in front of me – my dreamwall. I believe in the Power of a Dream and I’ve said it before and I will say it again. Our dreams keep us focused, inspired and encouraged on this journey of life.
The bible says in Hebrews 11:1, that Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. If you have absolute certainty that what you dream and hope for will come to pass, then you have Faith. When you believe that our gracious Father has already given it to you when you prayed, that’s Faith. When you believe that it will manifest at God’s appointed time that’s Faith.
Today I want to encourage you to get your focus right. Choose to focus on your dreams, your hopes and your goals.
Now that you have your focus right. I want you to look at your life and think of all the good things in your life that God has graciously blessed you with and take the time to appreciate each and every one of these good things.
Today I was reminded that I need to have my focus right and I need to be content with my current circumstances. I need to appreciate this season in my life and ask God what I can learn from this season. Every season we go through is preparation for the season or seasons that will follow. Ask yourself why you want your dreams to come to pass. Is it for selfish motives or is to be a blessing to others and to please God. Yes there is nothing wrong with wanting the good things in life for our enjoyment, but there should also be bigger reason of why we want to be financially successful.
What pleases God? The bible is clear, Faith does. Hebrews 11:6 (NLT): “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.”
So despite our circumstances and the difficulties we go through from time to time, we must not forget who our Rewarder is. And we need to ensure that we keep our focus on Him. God’s Word is true, so if He says that we will be rewarded for sincerely seeking Him, then let’s make a decision to believe His Word.
Sometimes I believe God wants to get us to a place where we are content with where we at. Being content means that we are okay with where we are today. We are also fully surrendered unto Him and at rest. We are fully dependent on Him and also fully persuaded that at the right time, God’s appointed time, our season will shift!
I was so encouraged by these words and want to now share it with you.
Your set time has come!
Psalm 102:13 (KJV): “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”
“ACCORDING to Psalm 102:13, there is a set time for the favour of God to manifest in your life. Time is generally defined in the Greek as “chronos” and “kairos”.
“Chronos” represents a chronological time that is calculated in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades, centuries and millennia. “Kairos” represents a God-appointed time when something is to occur. “Kairos” generally denotes God’s divine intervention in your life to accelerate or bring to pass some occurrence or event on your behalf. It is a moment that is unplanned, unexpected and unscheduled when God decides to bless or favour you. In other words, “kairos” is a time when God decides that He is going to do you a “favour”.
“Divine favour is an uncommon blessing or breakthrough that God Himself has orchestrated and ordained for your life. This favour comes directly from the hand of God. The divine favour of God does not influence your life because of who you are or what you may have done, but it comes to your life because of who God is to you.
I am reminded of Esther who replaced Vashti as queen in Shushan. She was an orphan girl who had gone through so much turmoil during the course of her life, but somehow found grace in the sight of God. She had lost both parents and was forced to grow up in a time when her people (the Jews) were under great persecution.
However, one moment of crisis in the kingdom of Shushan presented a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Esther, again because of the favour of God on her life. The removal of Vashti as queen created a glorious moment for God to display his power through Esther and set in place a divine plan for the deliverance of His people. So what seemed like a misfortune to Esther, turned out to be a blessing.”
I believe God can take any situation and turn it around for our God. Let’s not be concerned about how He is going to do, but rather that we are favoured and loved by Him.
“Esther 2:15 says: “And when the turn of Esther came…” This clearly means that God has an appointed time when He will turn your situation around. Esther’s turn came and immediately she went from rags to riches and from poverty to a wealthy place. She did not have to fight, manipulate or buy her way to success; the sceptre was simply extended to her. In that single moment, when God had determined that it was Esther’s turn, her entire life changed.
I decree and declare that the favour of God will surround you like a shield and change your entire life. As you go forth in this season I declare that you will have divine encounters and that great doors of opportunities will be opened for you. I decree and declare that heaven will open over your life in this season and that your set time of favour has come, in Jesus’ name!” Be blessed.
