Our SME Global Virtual Entrepreneurial & Investing Summit, 22-23 August 2020, was a success and I give God all the Glory. The theme for this summit was From Glory to Glory and that was indeed the experience. I feel like the entire experience stretched, positioned, and elevated me in so many ways. And I would like to think that it did the same for the Speakers and Attendees who participated in and attended the summit.
The response from many who attended however positive and we as SME Women, are very happy with the positive feedback, as well as the learnings and insights that the Attendees received. And this for me is what SME Women is all about. The platform was put in place in 2016 to empower and equip Women Entrepreneurs and aspiring Women Entrepreneurs in and into business, by providing them with knowledge, tools, training, resources and opportunities that will help to accelerate their business and financial success. Our focus is specifically on women, but from time to time we attract our male counterparts and peers to our events, and they are always welcome to join us. So well done to all who invested in themselves and took the time to attend the summit. All these champions and winners are actively working on moving their goals forward and I wat to say to you all keep the momentum going and do not give up. Stay close to the fire (SME Women) and you will succeed.
My vision for SME Women was always to be a global platform and on 22 August 2020 this vision became a reality, because at our summit we attracted attendees from places such as Europe, the UK, Australia as well as other parts of Africa. And this was only the start of a Global initiative, as it was our launch. For now, I plan to host these global virtual summits and events about two times a year and I am already preparing for our next summit which will take place in the first quarter of 2021.
When one is passionate about what you do, the work and efforts you put in, does not feel like work. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of hours went into arranging the summit, not only from me, but from the rest of my team that I worked with, but it was worth it – it was our mission accomplished.
Initially when I decided to host the summit, I had no idea how much work would go into arranging a global virtual summit, as this was my first. Over the past few years we’ve only hosted events from physical premises which also required a significant amount of work, but with time it became easier, as I had more support from the team I worked with, as well as the venues who assisted with some of the preparations.
I believe and learnt a few years ago in the early stages of my business journey that it is important to get involved in the operational side of your new business ventures or projects in order for you to have a better understanding of the efforts involved as this will help you to make better decisions in the areas of strategy, budget, marketing and delivery, as you move your business goals forward.
We are now in the process of wrapping up the event.
Once again I want to use this opportunity to thank all the amazing Speakers who joined hands with me on our SME Women Global Virtual Entrepreneurial & Investing Summit in being Power Voices to an audience who need our support and especially in this current economic climate. God bless you and may you continue achieve massive success in every area of your lives, both you and your loved ones!
I want to leave you my readers with these words today: “Do what you love and love what you do”!
This means, find your passion, pursue your passion, empower yourself and live your passion.
When you do, it will not feel like work and you will ensure that you give it your very best, because it’s your passion and your desire to succeed in it.
